Welcome New City EngineerThe City of Mill Creek welcomes Frank Reinart as the City Engineer effective on Monday, May 24. In this role, Reinart will oversee the Public Works Engineering team to develop, design, and construct city transportation, parks, stormwater infrastructure, and facilities.

“The exciting addition of our new City Engineer to the Public Works Team fills a key vacancy.  Mr. Reinart’s background and work ethic will strengthen our administrative team’s ability to produce a more cost-efficient model of public service to our taxpayers,” said City Manager Michael Ciaravino.

Reinart arrives at Mill Creek with over 20 years of diverse and multidiscipline engineering and environmental project and program experience. Reinart was a consultant geotechnical and environmental engineer in both eastern and western Washington for over 12 years, followed by 10 years of public works engineering and environmental positions with Kirkland, Issaquah, and the Washington State Department of Ecology.

“We are excited to have Reinart join the Public Works team,” said Mike Todd, Public Works and Development Services Director. “His experience is precisely in line with what the City needs. Mr. Reinart and I will next be working together to fill the rest of the team with a new project engineer and a surface water program coordinator.”

His most recent position with the City of Kirkland was the environmental compliance and permitting coordinator for the Kirkland Capital Improvement Projects program, guiding all Kirkland public works projects through federal, state, and local permitting. Reinart also provided Kirkland’s Planning and Public Works Departments an internal geotechnical engineering resource for geological topics such as landslides, erosion, groundwater, infiltration, earthquakes, and liquefaction.

“Thank you for the opportunity to serve you as your new City Engineer,” said Reinart. “The City of Mill Creek is a beautiful city with walking routes I have enjoyed for years. Today offers both challenges and opportunities and I look forward to contributing to Mill Creek’s success.”

Outside of work, Reinart mixes an enthusiasm for traveling both in and out of the U.S. with a love of walking and hiking.
